Wedding Dresses with Straps

Wedding dresses with straps support and frame the bodice while leaving the arms uncovered. Strap width and position can be as visible as the neckline itself.

Strap width changes the frame

On Afida, broad straps hold a square neckline above a floral lace and beaded bodice. Their width is part of the design from front to back. Much finer lines appear among Eva Lendel’s spaghetti-strap dresses, where more of the shoulder and upper bodice remains visually open.

Straps and bodice work together

Afida’s broad straps meet a transparent, visibly boned bodice. Together they establish a strong square frame; strap width alone cannot explain the dress’s fit or support. Cups, seams and internal structure also matter. A finer strap on a softer gown would produce a lighter outline even if both dresses leave the upper arm uncovered.

Straps are not sleeves: they connect the bodice over the shoulder without covering the arm. This distinction helps when comparing Afida with a cap-sleeve or long-sleeve design. At a fitting, look at the front and back attachment points with the complete bodice in place.
