Two surfaces define Kilian: a textured lace corset and a smooth satin skirt. The base dress opens with a strapless sweetheart neckline, visible boning, and a natural waist before satin draping crosses the hip and releases into a fitted mermaid line. Chantilly lace keeps the bodice intricate, while satin gives the lower half a cleaner, calmer plane. The bolero changes the upper body without disturbing the skirt. Long lace sleeves and an illusion high neckline bring coverage over the shoulders, turning the exposed sweetheart dress into a more enclosed set. From behind, the low open back remains part of the dress's character, giving the second look contrast rather than weight. Kilian feels strongest in the transition between bare neckline and lace-framed upper body, with the chapel train holding both readings together.
