A bolero redraws the upper silhouette
A bolero is a separate upper layer that can add sleeves, shoulder structure or a second neckline. Its effect depends on the base dress as much as on the layer itself: a close-fitting piece may preserve the dress’s outline, while a shaped sleeve becomes a visible design feature.
Two distinct changes of proportion
Ferran begins as a strapless satin column. Its separate Chantilly-lace bolero brings long sleeves, defined shoulder pads and a high illusion neckline over that smooth base. Naya uses an ivory satin midi dress with a strapless sweetheart bodice; its optional long-sleeve bolero adds light shoulder structure while leaving a deep opening at the front. Ferran gains a high neck and lace texture, whereas Naya keeps its front neckline exposed.
Both layers change the upper body without requiring a new dress. A detachable cape offers another removable layer, but typically extends beyond the cropped proportions associated with a bolero.
