Specialty bridal fabrics and textures
Specialty is a broad designation, so the exact fabric or finish should be checked on each dress rather than inferred from the category name. Surface and structure can be as important as silhouette: a distinctive texture may catch light, add dimension, or give a simple line an individual character.
Surface and construction
“Specialty” covers distinct textiles and finishes rather than one weave. A translucent layer, sculpted fold or textured surface changes the gown in a different way. Baccara and Summer below show how the material works with the cut; vestidos de noiva de renda offer a more specific patterned surface for comparison.
Two different uses of a specialty surface
Baccara is classified with lace and specialty fabric on an A-line shape, while Verão pairs specialty material with organza and a dropped-waist A-line look. Their different surfaces and skirt proportions give each design its own character; neither defines a single fabric called “specialty”.
