Drop waist wedding dresses and elongated bodices
A dropped waist carries the fitted upper section below the natural waist before releasing the skirt. That added bodice length changes the torso-to-skirt proportion even when the neckline stays similar.
Saba and Miata
Saba pairs a lowered transition with a clean strapless satin bodice and broad skirt volume. Miata brings the lower line into a closer, more decorated fit-and-flare shape. Saba emphasizes the change from fitted torso to full skirt and adds a long cape at the neck. Miata keeps the lower outline nearer the body, with allover beading and a high slit that change how the longer bodice reads in motion.
The seam can continue at one level around the torso or shift at the side, so its path matters as much as its height. A natural waist begins the skirt higher, while a basque waist is distinguished by a front point.
